Getting Started

How do I create my first event?

Tap the + New Event button on the home screen. Choose your format (e.g. Americano, Round Robin), enter an event name, set the number of courts, and add your players. Hit Generate Draw to create the first round automatically.

What game formats does CourtIQ support?

CourtIQ currently supports: Americano, Team Americano, Normal Padel, Round Robin, and Singles. More formats are added regularly based on community feedback.

Do I need an account to use CourtIQ?

You need an account to create events, save match history, and access your Player Pass. You can sign in with Google or register with an email and password. Spectators joining a live session do not need an account.

Player Pass

What is a Player Pass?

Your Player Pass is a unique QR code tied to your player profile. Event organisers can scan it to instantly add you to a team — no typing required. You can find it on your Profile tab. You can also share a link so others can scan it before arriving.

The QR scanner isn't working — what do I do?

Make sure CourtIQ has camera permission enabled in your device settings (Settings → Apps → CourtIQ → Permissions → Camera). If you'd prefer not to grant camera access, you can still add players by typing their 6-character share code manually.

Scoring & Events

Can multiple people score the same event?

Yes. Share the live session link with co-organisers. Anyone with the link and appropriate permissions can enter scores. The leaderboard updates for all participants in real time.

How do I fix a score I entered incorrectly?

Tap the match result you want to correct on the live scoring screen. You'll see an edit option to update the score. The leaderboard recalculates automatically.

Where can I view past events?

Tap History in the bottom navigation to see all your past events. You can view full match results, leaderboards, and round-by-round breakdowns for any saved event.

AI Coach

What is the AI Coach?

The AI Coach is a personalised coaching insight generated after each watch session. It analyses your shot data, movement efficiency, heart rate zones, and match results to deliver a tailored coaching message — written by Claude AI (Anthropic) in the voice of your chosen coach persona. Available on the Ultimate plan.

How many AI insights do I get per month?

Ultimate plan subscribers receive 5 AI coaching insights per month. Each insight is generated after a completed watch session. Your usage count and limit are shown on the AI Coach screen. Unused insights do not roll over.

Where do I find my AI coaching history?

Tap the AI Coach card on your Home screen, then tap View All Insights to open your full coaching history. Each past insight shows the session date, performance stats, and the full coaching message.

Do I need a smartwatch to use the AI Coach?

Yes — the AI Coach is powered by watch session data (shot counts, movement, heart rate). It works with Wear OS watches (Samsung Galaxy Watch etc.) and Apple Watch. Without a paired watch, AI insights cannot be generated.

CIQ Rating

What is my CIQ Rating?

Your CIQ (CourtIQ Intelligence) Rating is a dynamic performance score from 0 to 7, calculated from your match results, win rate, and the quality of your opponents. It updates automatically after every event you participate in. 7 tiers range from Beginner through to Elite.

Where can I see my ranking?

Open the Rankings tab to see your global position and drill down to regional rankings by suburb, city, and country. Rankings are available to Ultimate plan subscribers.

Can I import my Playtomic rating?

Yes. On your Profile page, tap Set Playtomic Rating to enter your existing Playtomic rating. CourtIQ uses this as a seed to initialise your CIQ Rating more accurately before you've played enough events for the algorithm to calibrate.

Subscriptions

What does CourtIQ Pro include?

Pro (R199/month) unlocks unlimited active events, unlimited players, all tournament formats, Live Display real-time sync, BLE/Flic button scoring, audio announcements, and full past events history.

What does CourtIQ Ultimate include?

Ultimate (R299/month) includes everything in Pro, plus: AI Coach (5 insights/month), CIQ Rankings (global & regional), full event analytics dashboard, player performance trends, watch analytics dashboard, and CSV data export.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Google Play or App Store depending on your device.

Android: Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → CourtIQ → Cancel.
iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → CourtIQ → Cancel Subscription.

Access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Google Play or the App Store. For Android, see Google's refund policy. For iOS, contact Apple Support. For issues not covered by store policies, contact us directly.

Privacy & Account

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account directly in the app: go to Profile → scroll to Danger Zone → Delete My Account. This permanently removes your profile, Player Pass, and all associated data. See our Delete Account page for full details.

What data does CourtIQ collect?

CourtIQ collects your name, email address, match data you create, and basic device diagnostics (crash logs). We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
