Terms of Service

📄 Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the CourtIQ mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Yesterday's Anarchy Gaming (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of South Africa ("Company", "we", "us", or "our").

📱 Description of Service

CourtIQ is a court-sport event management application that allows users to:

• Create and manage sporting events in various formats (Americano, Team Americano, Round Robin, Singles, and others)
• Record live match scores and view real-time leaderboards
• Create a player profile with a unique Player Pass QR code
• View personal career statistics and match history
• Receive push notifications for match schedules

Certain features require an account and may require a paid subscription. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.

👤 Accounts & Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account using a valid email address and password, or via Google Sign-In. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating your account
• Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with others
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the App.

💳 Subscriptions & Billing

CourtIQ offers optional paid subscription plans ("Pro") that unlock additional features. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following:

• Billing. Subscriptions are billed through the Google Play Store. Payment is charged to your Google Play account upon confirmation of purchase.
• Renewal. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued.
• Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Google Play in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.
• Price changes. We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after the price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

✏️ User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create within the App, including event names, match scores, and player names ("User Content"). By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display your User Content solely to provide the service to you.

You agree that your User Content will not:

• Contain false, misleading, or defamatory information about other users
• Infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
• Include offensive, abusive, or inappropriate material

We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms.

🚫 Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the App to:

• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its related systems
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from other users without their consent
• Transmit any malware, viruses, or other harmful code
• Use the App for commercial purposes without our prior written consent
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity

🔒 Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, graphics, code, branding, and all content created by us (excluding User Content), is owned by Yesterday's Anarchy Gaming (Pty) Ltd and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.

⚠️ Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times
• Any errors or defects will be corrected
• The App or its servers are free of viruses or other harmful components

📉 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Yesterday's Anarchy Gaming (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or R500 ZAR, whichever is greater.

🔗 Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own terms and privacy policies:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, push notifications, and crash reporting
• Google Play — app distribution and in-app billing

We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services.

❌ Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if required by law.

You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Danger Zone → Delete My Account). Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

🔄 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via a push notification or in-app message. The updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

⚖️ Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
